Hi, I'm mathilde

The Shirley Temple is probably the most famous mocktail ever. This classic mix of ginger ale and grenadine with a squeeze of lemon or lime topped with maraschino cherries is believed to be the world’s first mocktail— and its still thriving today.

This mocktail is a popular choice for anyone seeking a tasty nonalcoholic beverage. Like all drinks, quality of ingredients can really elevate the drink you’re making, and you can always add a touch of ✨you✨ to it as well. For my variation of the Shirley Temple, I wanted to create more of a bite that can cut through the sweetness of the cherries. I also swapped out the club soda and lemon lime soda you’ll usually find in Shirley Temples and gave in to Ginger Beer. Ginger Beer has that bite that definitely cuts through the sweetness of cherries and bubbles that Lemon Lime Soda brings. A Shirley Temple is always an easy mocktail to make your own, especially with these tweakable ingredients!

Here’s what you need to make your Shirley Ginger

  • 3/4 oz Grenadine
  • Half of Lime, Freshly Squeezed
  • Top off with Ginger Beer (swap for Diet or Ginger Ale to make this drink low in sugar)
  • Garnish with cherries (I strongly recommend Luxardo, yet I still need to find more ways to use up all of my maraschinos!)

Now here’s how to make it…

In a glass filled with ice, add in your Grenadine and Lime Juice. Top off with Ginger Beer and stir. Make sure to garnish with your favorite cherries and cheers! ✨

To make this mocktail a cocktail, add in 2 oz Vodka
