Anyone desperately searching for their local Farmers Market?! I tried to buy my ingredients (especially mint and bay leaves) from them but thanks to the panini, I’m stuck with the handy dandy supermarket. Now let me show you the Fresh Bay Leaf Gimlet. I used Tommyrotter gin— it’s a NY based gin from Buffalo.
It definitely leans more towards its spices with a touch of floral and citrus notes. You can first smell cinnamon which then grows into a cardamom led scent. Just with that alone, this gin is PERFECT for me and the taste I want for my spring creations.
This gin is so clean and smooth, and leaves a pleasant after taste. What you smell is what you get, and it really plays through the Fresh Bay Leaf Gimlet cocktail
Here’s what you need to make your Fresh Bay Leaf Gimlet
- 2 oz Gin (shout out to @tommyrotterdistillery !)
- 3/4 oz Fresh Lime Juice
- 3/4 oz Fresh Bay Leaf Cordial (scroll down to see how that’s made!)
- Splash of Club Soda/Sparkling Water
- Garnish: Fresh Bay Leaf and a pinch of Salt
Now here’s how to make it…
Combine first three ingredients in a shaker with ice. Shake to chill and strain into a coupe glass. Top with Club Soda/Sparkling Water. Garnish and enjoy!
Fresh Bay Leaf Cordial
