A mezcal inspired variation of the Last Word with a refreshing, spirit-forward blend of ingredients. This drink was developed by New York City Bartender Phil Ward (bless him) for the opening menu of Mayahuel an East Village, Mezcal focused Cocktail bar opened in 2009.
This drink is DANGEROUS. This drink is perfect for brunch— with the Mezcal and Aperol perfectly pair together with the Lime cutting through with its citrus flavor and the cherry flavor that adds that sweetness. You won’t feel the buzz after your 2nd, but only when you stand up to grab your 3rd!
Check out my Tiktok to see how it was made!
Here’s what you need to make your Division Bell
- 1.5 oz (44 ml) Mezcal
- 3/4 oz (22 ml) Aperol
- 1/2 oz (14 ml) Maraschino Liqueur
- 3/4 oz (22 ml) Lime Juice
- Garnish with Orange Twist
Now here’s how to make it…
In cocktail shaker, add Mezcal, Aperol, Maraschino Liqueur, and Lime Juice with ice and shake. Strain into a Coupe Glass and garnish with an Orange Twist.
