Hi, I'm mathilde

As you can tell by the color, I am VERY heavy handed with the Aperol Luckily for me, Tequila and aperol are two ingredients that work very well together.

Taken from @imbibe and inspired by @stevethebartender, the origin of the Dead Man’s Handle was created by Tiffany Kirk from Miss Carousel in Houston : A dead man’s handle is a switch or lever, most commonly used on trains, that if released by the driver causes the train to stop. However, in this case, it’s a refreshing tequila cocktail punched up with Aperol and sweetened with orgeat. But we think you’ll find it equally difficult to let go of.

Here’s what you need to make your Dead Man’s Handle

  • 1 ½ oz Tequila
  • ¾ oz Aperol
  • ½ oz Fresh Lime Juice
  • ½ oz Orgeat (can increase to ¾ oz. per desired sweetness)
  • Garnish: Tajín seasoning on top or at rim

Now here’s how to make it…

Add all ingredients to a shaker and shake with ice. Strain into the glass and top with a sprinkle (or rim) of Tajín seasoning.
